OneSails Launches the First Sail Trade-In Recycling Campaign in the Sailing Industry

The 4T FORTE Trade-In Campaign debuts on Global Recycling Day, reinforcing a circular future for high-performance sailing.

March 18, 2026 — OneSails, the global sailmaking brand known for advanced sail design and sustainable innovation, today announces the launch of the 4T FORTE Trade-In Campaign, the first industry initiative allowing sailors to return used sails for recycling while receiving a benefit toward the purchase of new ones.

Launching on March 18, Global Recycling Day, the campaign highlights OneSails’ long-standing commitment to environmental responsibility and circular manufacturing in sailing. Through the program, customers who own sails produced with 4T FORTE technology can bring their used sails to the nearest OneSails loft and receive a special trade-in benefit toward a new 4T FORTE sail set.

The initiative is built around 4T FORTE, the only sail technology currently available that is 100% recyclable, allowing sails to re-enter a circular material lifecycle rather than becoming waste at the end of their use.

“This campaign represents a concrete step forward for sustainability in sailing,” said Dede De Luca, CEO of OneSails International. “By enabling sailors to recycle their sails and reinvest in new high-performance ones, we are closing the loop on sail production while offering a tangible advantage to our customers.

How the 4T FORTE Trade-In Campaign Works

The program is open to any customer who has purchased sails built with 4T FORTE technology since their introduction in October 2013.

To participate, sailors simply bring their used 4T FORTE sails to the nearest OneSails loft. After verifying eligibility, the loft will provide a special offer toward a new set of 4T FORTE sails as part of the trade-in program.

The returned sails are then sent for recycling through a certified process managed by ESO Recycling, a company specialized in recycling various sports items.

Responsible Recycling and Low-Impact Logistics

The recycling process is handled through ESO Recycling’s micro-collection logistics system, designed to reduce environmental impact by optimizing transportation routes and minimizing emissions throughout the collection and recycling chain.

Once collected, the sails are processed and recycled, ensuring that the materials are recovered and reintegrated into new production cycles whenever possible.

A Circular Approach to Sailmaking

By combining recyclable sail technology, a structured take-back program, and specialized recycling logistics, the 4T FORTE Trade-In Campaign represents a new model for sustainability in the sailing industry.

The program offers a clear value proposition for sailors: a campaign that benefits the boat, the sailor’s wallet, and the environment.

The 4T FORTE Trade-In Campaign officially launches worldwide on March 18, 2026 through the global network of OneSails lofts.
