OneSails has joined IMOCA Green Sail Rule

OneSails has joined the panel of experienced sailmakers collaborating on IMOCA’s new Green Sail rule. This chosen group of sailmakers will discuss the next steps needed to create real change to improve sustainability in the sail making industry.

After more than 10 years of research, OneSails is currently the only sailmaker with ISO certification of high-performance sails, which deliver low CO2 emissions in the construction process with 100% recyclability at the end of the sail’s useful life.

“Having OneSails join our Green Sail rule will add a good dynamic to the group”, said IMOCA.

IMOCA continued, “In the last edition of the Vendée Globe, we saw their sails onboard Medallia and Stark. Joining the group allows OneSails to reveal its sail technology to the sailing community and its purpose to combine sustainability with performance; we are happy to welcome them to our panel.”

Dede De Luca CEO of OneSails International said, “We join this project with enthusiasm, ready to share our knowledge and experience to help the sailmaking industry on its sustainability development. The IMOCA class has started a pioneering journey with its green sails rule and we are happy to be part of it.”

For the seventh consecutive year, Onesails will be the exclusive service partner of the Royal Malta Yacht Club for the Rolex Middle Sea Race 2023, continuing our tradition of supporting this prestigious regatta. Our loft will be operating from Monday 16th to Monday 30th at the Race village near Royal Malta Yacht club.
