Vendée Globe 2020-2021

Today Friday, 5th March at 08.35.46 UTC, Ari Huusela on board STARK crossed the finish line of the 2020-21 Vendée Globe.

Our 4TFORTE sails on board with him and with Pip Hare Ocean Racing on MEDALLIA have spent a combined 212 days at sea, and sailed a total 57.099 nautical miles with ZERO FAILURES! Both skippers, actually, believe they could go around again with the same sails.

All the OneSails sailmakers worldwide (53 sail lofts in 41 countries) are happy and proud of this great achievement, and thank all the people whom, at any title, have been involved in making this adventure a huge success for OneSails and our 4T FORTE.

OneSails has launched a new sail development program for the Star class in collaboration with Enrico Chieffi, 1996 Star World Champion in Rio de Janeiro. The project brings together Enrico’s extensive knowledge of one of sailing’s most technically demanding classes, the long-standing Star-class experience of OneSails North Italy, and the advanced Fluid–Structure Interaction work led by Daniele Ricci, OneSails’ FSI specialist.
Modern sailmaking gives you more choice than ever in cut, material, and construction. That's a good thing, but it also means a few fundamentals get overlooked. Here's what actually matters when you're ordering a new sail, and how to decide.
Following the ORC World Championship, we spoke with Mati Sepp, skipper of Technonicol and owner of OneSails Estonia, about the team's campaign, the role of sail development, the challenges of competing at the highest level, and what lies ahead for one of ORC racing's most successful teams.
