2026 ORC Double-Handed European Champions

We are proud to congratulate José Ballester and Andrés Manresa, leaders of the OneSails South Spain loft, on becoming the 2026 ORC Double-Handed European Champions (Class B) during the 40th edition of the 200 Millas A2 offshore race, which concluded on March 8th in Altea, Spain.

2026 ORC Double-Handed European Champions – Ballester & Manresa Win Overall at the 200 Millas A2

Sailing aboard the Dufour 40 Falapouco, the duo not only secured the ORC Double-Handed European Championship title in Class B, but also achieved an impressive 1st place Overall in the regatta.

The 200 Millas A2 Offshore Race – A Key Event in Double-Handed Sailing

The 200 Millas A2 is one of the most demanding double-handed offshore races in the Mediterranean, organized by Club Náutico de Altea in collaboration with the Offshore Racing Congress (ORC).

The championship was decided across two offshore races:

  • a 37-mile coastal race

  • the legendary 200-mile offshore course around Ibiza and Formentera

These races form the official ORC Double-Handed European Championship, attracting offshore sailors from all across Europe.

Challenging Offshore Conditions in the 2026 ORC Championship

Weather conditions throughout the regatta were unstable and highly tactical, with shifting winds and changing pressure requiring constant sail adjustments and strategic decisions.

Despite the challenging conditions, Ballester and Manresa delivered consistent performances across both races, demonstrating exceptional skill in double-handed offshore sailing, where endurance, sail handling efficiency and tactical awareness are critical.

Their victory aboard Falapouco, equipped with a full OneSails 4T FORTE sail inventory, highlights both the sailors’ experience and the performance of modern OneSails offshore racing sails.

30 Years of Sailing Partnership

Beyond their success on the water, José Ballester and Andrés Manresa run the OneSails South Spain loft, where they support sailors across the region with advanced sail technology and expertise.

The two sailors have been racing together for more than 30 years, building a partnership based on experience, trust and deep knowledge of offshore racing.
