In 2007, OneSails introduced the first continuous fibre sails built without the use of resin or glue, eliminating delamination issues at a stroke. Now OneSails goes a step further, by introducing 4T FORTE™ membranes made from exclusive Multi Micro Structure (MMS™) technology (patent pending).
The 4T FORTE™ composite structure incorporates high modulus fibres such as STR™ Solid Stripes, a new low stretch component of MMS™ technology which eliminates both glue and the mylar film, so often the weak element of a laminate sail. Using a multi micro layered structure, elements of the membrane are fused together in a cross linked, polymerised matrix resulting in a stable, stretch resistant, and durable sail. By doing away with both glue and mylar film these sails are significantly lighter than conventional laminate sails.

The whole skin, with its continuous fibres, is vacuum cured in a heat activated cross polymerisation process. which fuses the components together so that every single element in the structure contributes to shape holding. As a result, a 4T FORTE™ sail membrane not only exhibits superior structural integrity, but the use of more efficient components creates a sail up to 25% lighter than film based alternatives.

Die OneSails-Gruppe hat eine gemeinsame Leidenschaft für das Segeln und das Meer. Der Respekt vor der Umwelt lässt uns immer wieder überlegen, wie wir die Nachhaltigkeit unserer Segel verbessern können.
Unser Engagement zur Reduzierung des CO2-Fußabdrucks unserer Segel konzentriert sich auf die Materialien und darauf, was mit einem Segel am Ende seiner Lebensdauer geschieht. Im Jahr 2015 hat OneSails den 4T FORTE ™ Prozess zum Recycling von Segeln und Membranen eingeführt. Ausgezeichnet mit der ISO 14040 Ökobilanz-Zertifizierung, sind 4T FORTE ™ die einzigen vollständig recycelbaren Membranen auf dem heutigen Markt.
Die Membranen und ihr Zusammenbau wurden nach höchsten Standards in Bezug auf Umweltverträglichkeit und Recyclingfähigkeit entwickelt. Klebstoffe, Harze und Lösungsmittel wurden durch Hitzeverschmelzung ersetzt und das Basispolymer ist zu 100 % in einem Standardverfahren zur Mülltrennung recycelbar.
Hält sich an die höchsten Standards für Umweltpraktiken und die verantwortungsvolle Beschaffung von Materialien und Energiequellen.
Segel aus 4T FORTE werden mit einem geringen CO2-Ausstoß in die Atmosphäre und ohne Verwendung von Schadstoffen wie Klebstoffen, Harzen und Lösungsmitteln hergestellt.
Am Ende ihrer Nutzungsdauer werden diese Segel im Rahmen der normalen Verwertungsprozesse von Rohstoffen auf Polyethylenbasis recycelt, um das PE-Granulat herzustellen.
Das Polyethylenpellet wird für die Herstellung von Zubehörteilen (z. B. Kopfbretter) verwendet, die bei der Produktion neuer Segel zum Einsatz kommen.

Mehr als 10 Jahre Forschung und Entwicklung haben zur Entwicklung von Segeln geführt, die bei Regatten gewinnen, lange halten, bei der Produktion wenig CO2 ausstoßen und am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer recycelt werden können.
Aus dieser Idee entstanden die MARKERS, die von den Segeln abgeleitet sind, die Pip Hare bei der Vendée Globe benutzt hat und die von @carioca_italia hergestellt wurden.
Wir glauben fest an die Nachhaltigkeit. Unser Engagement ist konkret und zertifiziert nach: ISO 14021:2021 und ISO 14001:2015 durch unabhängige Prüfer (IQNet).
Flexon Composites stellt die 4T FORTE™-Membran her, die so konzipiert ist, dass sie am Ende ihrer Lebensdauer wiederverwertet werden kann.
Die Membran wird zur Weiterverarbeitung an die Segelmacher geliefert.
Der Prozess der Herstellung eines Segels umfasst:
Am Ende der Nutzung wird das Zubehör entfernt, um das Recycling zu ermöglichen.
Die Sammlung und Demontage der Membranen wird vom OneSails-Netzwerk in Zusammenarbeit mit Flexon und PoliEco durchgeführt, die die Möglichkeit bieten, die Membranen für das Recycling zu wiederverwendbarem PE-Granulat vorzubereiten.
Um die Membran für das Recycling vorzubereiten, muss der Loft die von Flexon zur Verfügung gestellten Anweisungen für die effektive Trennung der Komponenten befolgen:
Beim Recycling wird PE-Granulat hergestellt, das in der Kunststoffindustrie wiederverwendet werden kann. Die Verwertung hängt vom Vorhandensein von Sammelnetzen und Recyclinganlagen ab. Wenn diese nicht vorhanden sind, können Flexon und OneSails die Sammlung und den Versand an europäische Anlagen übernehmen.
OneSails kann 4T FORTE™-Hauptsegel mit integrierten Dünnschicht-PV-Paneelen liefern, die die Batterien der Yacht mit Sonnenenergie regenerieren.
Aufgrund der hochmoduligen Konstruktion des 4T FORTE™ Verbundmaterials ist der Einfluss der PV-Paneele auf die Eigenschaften und die Leistung des Segels minimal.
Die Spirit 44CR(e) zum Beispiel ist eine vollständig elektrische Yacht, die von Spirit Yachts entworfen und gebaut wurde. Um dem Wunsch des Eigners nach „nahezu vollständiger Autarkie“ zu entsprechen, hat OneSails eng mit Spirit Yachts und Solar Cloth zusammengearbeitet, um Solarpaneele in das recycelbare Großsegel 4T FORTE zu integrieren. Die drei Paneele auf jeder Seite des Segels haben die Kapazität, 560 Watt zu regenerieren, also insgesamt 1.120 Watt für beide Seiten des Segels. Die Solarmodultechnologie wird ständig verbessert und OneSails testet und entwickelt kontinuierlich neue Lösungen.
