OneSails Expands into the Heart of Ocean Racing with New Loft in Lorient

Lorient, France
September, 2025

OneSails is proud to announce the affiliation of a new sail loft in Lorient, France – a globally recognized epicenter of offshore sailing. This strategic addition not only reinforces the brand’s growing presence in the French market, but also strengthens its long-term commitment to ocean racing.

The new OneSails loft in Lorient stands out for its state-of-the-art infrastructure and technical capacity, making it fully equipped to handle both the production and servicing of sails of any size. What makes this operation truly exceptional, however, is the expertise of its leadership team: master sailmakers Antoine Martineau and Yannick Audren, renowned figures in the offshore sailing industry.

As part of this new affiliation, the loft also welcomes Conrad Colman – celebrated offshore sailor and sailmaker – as a shareholder. A New Zealander by birth and global sailor by nature, Colman brings with him extensive experience including multiple solo round-the-world races, such as the Vendée Globe. His addition represents a major asset not only for the Lorient loft, but for the broader OneSails network.

“The affiliation of the Lorient loft, guided by the expertise of Antoine and Yannick and strengthened by Conrad Colman’s involvement, marks a key step in OneSails’ continued development in offshore sailing,” said Dede De Luca, CEO of OneSails International“This move strengthens our brand’s reputation for delivering high-performance, sustainable technology to the world’s most demanding sailors.”

“Joining the OneSails network through the Lorient loft is a natural step in my journey as a sailor and sailmaker,” added Conrad Colman“I’ve seen firsthand the performance and durability of 4T FORTE sails in the harshest ocean conditions. I’m proud to help develop this technology further and bring it to more offshore sailors who value both performance and sustainability.”

This expansion builds upon OneSails’ already impressive offshore racing pedigree, which includes three Vendée Globe campaigns and a growing presence in major transoceanic events. It also reaffirms the brand’s commitment to innovation, particularly through its exclusive 4T FORTE™ composite sail technology – the only sail material that has successfully completed multiple non-stop round-the-world races without a single structural failure, all while being recyclable and environmentally sustainable.

The addition of the Lorient loft and its world-class team signals an exciting new chapter for OneSails and its ambitions in ocean racing.

What a spectacular week it was at the 2025 Copa del Rey MAPFRE—one of the most competitive regattas on the calendar—and a true highlight came from TECHNONICOL, skippered by Estonia’s Mati Sepp, who claimed the ORC B European Championship title after an intense head-to-head contest that went right to the final race.
The 2025 Optimist World Championship, hosted in the coastal town of Portorož, Slovenia, brought together the world’s top young sailors. OneSails emerged as the most dominant sailmaker in the fleet, powering 113 boats—more than any other brand. The championship saw top performances from sailors using OneSails: 🥈 Mihael (Slovenia) – 2nd Overall 🥉 Karl (Demark) – 3rd Overall 🥉 Margaux (Hong Kong) – 3rd Girl Overall
This morning, just after 5 AM CET, Conrad Colman crossed the finish line of his second Vendée Globe, completing a grueling race across three oceans, rounding three legendary capes, and covering nearly 23,906 nautical miles of the theoretical course. 21st overall | 4th among non-foilers | Battling with the top 3 throughout the race and finishing just over 24 hours behind the first of them. He crossed the line only 13 minutes behind the legendary Jean Le Cam — an extraordinary achievement!
Sailmaking isn’t just a craft—it’s a battle against the elements, a dance between precision and passion. Last year, One Sails and Onesails Palma threw themselves into an 8-part video series, chronicling the creation of five sails for the legendary Wally 100. This isn’t just any boat—it’s the pinnacle of performance cruisers, and building sails for it was a challenge that pushed us to our limits and reminded us why we do what we do.
OneSails is proud to participate once again in the Vendée Globe, bringing a new generation of cutting-edge and sustainable sails to the race. Following the success of the 2020-2021 edition, OneSails is represented in this edition by Conrad Colman on MS Amlin and Arnaud Boissières on La Mie Caline, both equipped with the brand’s latest technologies. Colman, the New Zealand navigator, has chosen a full set of 4T Forte 525-R sails, designed to ensure high performance and minimal environmental impact, while Boissières, the French navigator, has opted for a FR0, an asymmetric fractional sail for downwind sailing built with the same technology.
