With a total of 179 days, 18 hours and 32 minutes of sailing have passed, covering 28625 nautical miles Spirit of Helsinki came very close to overall victory, touching it by only 17 hours in the handicap time and thus placing second on the podium. However, it took the victory in the Sayula class.
It was a gripping battle, won in the end by Maiden, who is still to be congratulated!
The Ocean Globe Race is more than just a competition; it is an extraordinary human experience. Without computers, satellites or GPS, only sextants, team spirit and the determination of the great ocean racing traditions accompany the course.
