TECHNONICOL Crowned ORC B European Champion at Copa del Rey MAPFRE 🏆

Palma de Mallorca, Spain
July 26 to August 2, 2025

What a spectacular week it was at the 2025 Copa del Rey MAPFRE—one of the most competitive regattas on the calendar—and a true highlight came from TECHNONICOL, skippered by Estonia’s Mati Sepp, who claimed the ORC B European Championship title after an intense head-to-head contest that went right to the final race. This marks another consecutive title for a team full powered by OneSails, following last year’s victory by SUGAR 3, racing under the Italian flag.

A Tactical Duel in ORC B

Racing in the ORC B class, TECHNONICOL (X-41 mod) was tested by a highly competitive fleet throughout the week. The leaderboard saw frequent changes as several top teams pushed hard across a tight and tactical series. Heading into the final day, the margin at the top was razor-thin, and every maneuver counted. In a high-pressure final showdown, TECHNONICOL kept their composure and sailed a smart, consistent race—securing the European Championship title with a decisive points lead.

Powered by a full 4T FORTE OneSails Inventory

The team’s victory was underpinned by a brand-new OneSails sail inventory, blending raw speed, easy handling, and next-generation sailmaking technology. Made using 4T FORTEℱ composite membranes, the sails are not only high-performance but also fully recyclable, offering a unique combination of sustainability, durability, and shape retention across a wide range of conditions.

TECHNONICOL sail wardrobe featured:

  • New High-Roach Mainsail – with 3 full battens
  • Jib 2 ZS – used throughout the event; outstanding from 3 to 18 knots, especially above 8 knots
  • Jib 3 ZS
  • A2 Gennaker – deep, powerful, and ideal for holding low angles in light airs
  • A1 Gennaker – recently added for optimized light-wind performance
  • Code 0 & Staysail

The sails proved fast, versatile, and easy to trim, giving TECHNONICOL a clear edge in both light and moderate conditions.

Crew Highlights

Led by Mati Sepp—an experienced sailor and OneSails Baltic dealer—the crew was composed almost entirely of passionate amateurs. Their campaign was marked by smart tactics, stable maneuvers, and consistently easy sail trim that allowed the team to stay fast and focused.

“It feels great—it’s amazing,” said Sepp. “Copa del Rey is everything: incredible weather, top-level organization, press attention, and tough competition. It was one of the hardest events I’ve ever done. Most of our crew are passionate amateurs, and I’m incredibly proud of how they performed.”

TECHNONICOL now sets its sights on the Garmin ORC World Championship, hosted on home waters in Tallinn.

Balearia Women’s Cup

A special shoutout goes to the incredible women-led teams at this year’s Copa del Rey MAPFRE, especially the crew from RCN Palma, skippered by María Bover, who claimed victory in the Balearia Women’s Cup after four days of tight and competitive racing on BluSail 24s.

This year’s edition saw 14 all-women teams racing head-to-head just off the shores of Palma, with fierce competition, fast formats, and stunning sailing on full display.

It’s an honour to see full OneSails sets on every BluSail 24 in the Balearia Women’s Cup, backing these incredible crews at the highest level of competition.

Congratulations to all the teams, and see you next year!

The 2025 Optimist World Championship, hosted in the coastal town of PortoroĆŸ, Slovenia, brought together the world’s top young sailors. OneSails emerged as the most dominant sailmaker in the fleet, powering 113 boats—more than any other brand. The championship saw top performances from sailors using OneSails: đŸ„ˆ Mihael (Slovenia) – 2nd Overall đŸ„‰ Karl (Demark) – 3rd Overall đŸ„‰ Margaux (Hong Kong) – 3rd Girl Overall
This morning, just after 5 AM CET, Conrad Colman crossed the finish line of his second VendĂ©e Globe, completing a grueling race across three oceans, rounding three legendary capes, and covering nearly 23,906 nautical miles of the theoretical course. 21st overall | 4th among non-foilers | Battling with the top 3 throughout the race and finishing just over 24 hours behind the first of them. He crossed the line only 13 minutes behind the legendary Jean Le Cam — an extraordinary achievement!
Sailmaking isn’t just a craft—it’s a battle against the elements, a dance between precision and passion. Last year, One Sails and Onesails Palma threw themselves into an 8-part video series, chronicling the creation of five sails for the legendary Wally 100. This isn’t just any boat—it’s the pinnacle of performance cruisers, and building sails for it was a challenge that pushed us to our limits and reminded us why we do what we do.
OneSails is proud to participate once again in the VendĂ©e Globe, bringing a new generation of cutting-edge and sustainable sails to the race. Following the success of the 2020-2021 edition, OneSails is represented in this edition by Conrad Colman on MS Amlin and Arnaud BoissiĂšres on La Mie Caline, both equipped with the brand’s latest technologies. Colman, the New Zealand navigator, has chosen a full set of 4T Forte 525-R sails, designed to ensure high performance and minimal environmental impact, while BoissiĂšres, the French navigator, has opted for a FR0, an asymmetric fractional sail for downwind sailing built with the same technology.
Kuka 3, owned by Franco Niggeler, claimed a stunning victory at the 45th edition of the Middle Sea Race, securing both the ORC overall scoreboard and class win. This year’s race proved to be quite the challenge, with the fleet facing two brutal storms packing winds over 50 knots, interspersed with stretches of frustrating calm. A key factor in their success was the brand new full inventory of 4T FORTE Sails, which powered them through both the fierce gales and the windless lulls. On board, they had experienced OneSails sailors, including Samuele Nicoletti and Sandro Montefusco, whose expertise played a crucial role in managing the changing conditions.
