The new IFS<\/strong> Multi Tradewind Sail <\/strong><\/a>has been officially nominated for the DAME Design Awards 2025<\/strong>, one of the most respected recognitions in the marine industry for design, innovation, and product development.
This year\u2019s competition reached record numbers \u2014 146 entries from 37 countries<\/strong>, of which 67 were selected as official nominees<\/strong>.
Being among them is a strong acknowledgment of the technology, craftsmanship, and performance<\/strong> behind our newest sail.<\/p>\n

Shaping the IFS Multi Tradewind Sail<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The IFS<\/strong> Multi Tradewind Sail<\/strong> was born from an idea within the OneSails Palma<\/strong><\/a> team: to create a multi-purpose downwind sail<\/strong> capable of adapting seamlessly to the wide range of angles and conditions faced during long ocean passages.
From the initial sketches and aerodynamic studies to material testing, production, and rigging, every stage of development was managed in-house by the Palma loft.
The result is a versatile, efficient, and easy-to-handle sail<\/strong> \u2014 one that reduces the need for multiple downwind sails and simplifies life offshore, without compromising performance, while excelling in light-wind conditions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Already Crossing the Atlantic<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The yacht Kalmahe<\/strong> is currently crossing the Atlantic equipped with the IFS<\/strong> Multi Tradewind Sail<\/strong>, putting it through real ocean conditions of shifting winds and long passages.
This live ocean crossing perfectly demonstrates the sail\u2019s ability to deliver stability, power, and ease of use<\/strong> when it matters most.<\/p>\n

Performance: One Sail, Multiple Tradewinds<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The IFS Multi Tradewind Sail was conceived to simplify downwind sailing<\/a> across long ocean passages. Traditionally, sailors rely on two gennakers or multiple downwind sails<\/strong> to cover the wide range of apparent wind angles encountered when crossing the trades. The IFS<\/strong> Multi Tradewind Sail<\/strong> will be on display in the DAME Design Awards Exhibition<\/strong> during METSTRADE 2025<\/strong> in Amsterdam<\/strong>, from 18 to 20 November 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
